Forest School
Knockmore Primary School are working towards receiving Forest School accreditation. Have a look at some of the amazing activities we have enjoyed
P3 were joined by Caoimhe from Forest School NI to explore our newly revamped woodland area in the school grounds. We learned about how to Leave No Trace when exploring the natural environment and used materials we found to create bird’s nests.
P5 talked all about trees and what the functions of their parts are. Some of us even had a go at climbing a tree. We made beautiful artworks using the natural materials around our woodland area and framed them with bamboo sticks. Before we tidied, to Leave No Trace, we presented our artworks to the class.
Miss Mulholland's class had a great time exploring the new woodland area and creating some art from natural materials. We worked as a team to be creative!
Mrs Williams class enjoyed building dens in our forest area. The students worked together as a team and built a shelter, they completed this with no help from adults! Well done boys and girls.
Mrs William’s and Mrs Armstrong’s classes had a great session of den building. They explored boundaries in Forest School and worked in teams to build their dens. It was good fun exploring each other’s dens!
Miss Mulholland’s class learned about fire safety and how to make a campfire. We made sparks using fire rods and toasted marshmallows to make s’mores. They were delicious!
